As big fans of Kysty we had to give this a try. Vibe is nice. Switched to the bar stool seats as they had more space. They are comfortable and good seats to people watch the regulars spilling out of the pub opposite, but you do feel like you have your back to the restaurant. Now the food. Toast with olive tapenade is a nice snack and the Focaccia is plane but brought alive by the hummus. I loved how unapologetic the Cumberland sausages are served. Straight up moist sausages perfectly cooked with a cranberry dip. The mackerel and beetroot dish was perfect. For mains we had the celeriac and cod. The cod is similar to a dish we had before at Kysty. It was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked you really got the full flavour of the cod in the irresistible buttery vermouth sauce. The celeriac with cavalo Nero and dash sauce was awesome too. The fried artichokes with garlic emulsion was a nice alternative snack. The cheese with poached pear was a lovely combination but a little stingy on the cracker and pear, we ended up eating the cheese straight. To finish we had the cheesecake which is as good as the ones you find in San Sebastian. Great meal, definitely recommend.

Same operating team as The Old Stamp House downstairs. One earned a Michelin star, this one the Michelin Bib Gourmand. We enjoyed all the small & big plates we ordered. Good value. Save some space for desserts too!

Lucky enough to have been twice now. Both times service, atmosphere and food have been excellent. We've eaten in some highly rated places and the food here is very very good indeed. Have to recommend the potted shrimp in cauliflower veloute and the Brill, which was among the best fish dishes I've ever had.

We were recommended The Schelly by friends and we are so glad we went. The menu has a good variety of dishes and we initially ordered 3 small plates, 1 big plate and 1 side. The staff recommended more but we weren't sure we were that hungry. Well the taste of the food soon changed our minds. We ordered 1 extra small plate, big plate and side. The pigeon, potted shrimp and iberico were our favourite dishes. The staff were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was great and had a nice buzz to it. It was so nice to celebrate our anniversary with such great food. I'd definitely recommend.

Lovely experience. Got a fairly last minute booking on the chefs table, the food was fantastic but most importantly the chefs were all lovely, particularly with our 9 month old baby. Can’t wait to come back

Lovely upmarket relaxed dining. More than lived up to expectations. A small plates menu for sharing. Friendly, relaxed service. Making choosing where to eat in south lakes even more difficult. We will be back.
